Hi.
I'd like to set up my Ubuntu laptop as a wireless access point (AP) so that I can use my Android mobile phone to surf the web.
I laptop have this wireless NIC:
Code:
02:09.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection (rev 05)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation Unknown device 1001
Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B-
Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR-
Latency: 64 (750ns min, 6000ns max), Cache Line Size: 64 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 9
Region 0: Memory at ffdfe000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
After doing some googling it seems to me like this NIC doesn't support "master mode", which is required for setting up wireless APs. Is this true?
Regards,
