Wireless network card not working - Realtek RTL8191SEvB

Hi there - New to Linux and learning fast. unning Linux Mint 13.

I have a problem with the Realtek RLT8191SEvB that is installed on my laptop. The following is the course of events.

1. Loaded up Mint and got started. Was able to get a wired connection OK.
2. Opened Wicd Network manager and was able to see my two local wireless conncetions. However was unable to connect to these as it kept telling me that the Network keys were incorrect. They were correct as I tried many times.

3. I read on another forum that Windows drivers sometimes work. So I downloaded the windows driver from Realtek for this device and loaded it up using ndis driver installation tool. RESULT- Wicd no longer sees my network connections. I promptly removed it using the same tool but to no avail.

4. I downloaded the Linux driver for this device from Realtek but have no idea how to load it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I attach the output of iwconfig below

david@david-M7x0K ~ $ iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

#2, I'd have set it to no key and see if it worked. The put in a key or same key are router and try again.

#3
I can say that to use windows driver you need to set up ndiswapper. I think it needs a bit more installed last time I tried it on mint. Search for this driver on web search with ubuntu instead of using mint.

Before you get too far along you might consider a new reload of the OS. Dunno what when on so far.

#4, Almost all drivers are in a compressed file. They expand and usually there is some read me file or maybe a file that says install or such or even make. You have to almost know what to start with. Generally you have to change permission on a file to execute it. chmod 666 install or some such command.
