To answer that question, it would help--well, it's essential--to know what precise wireless chipset you have installed.

Running the command lspci in a terminal should reveal that information; you might have to run it as root.

It may also be helpful to know the make/model of the computer.

If you have not already done so, you should read this: https://www.linuxquestions.org/linux...Ask_a_Question

The Arch Wiki has an article about Broadcom:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/broadcom_wireless

This may help, though it's getting a bit long in the tooth: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ux-4175434970/

Oh, and welcome to LQ!

I wish I could help you. I too have tried to manually install drivers for a broadcom wifi card. I eventually gave up and plugged in the Ethernet cable and let the system look for broadcom drivers.

It does matter which specific Broadcom chip is involved. Some models are easier to get working on Linux than others.

Remember, the issue is not whether Linux supports Broadcom. Rather, it's that Broadcom does not support Linux, at least not very well and rather inconsistently.

I had a succession of Dells with Broadcom wireless and was able to get their wireless working, but it's quite true that, while Broadcom is not actively hostile to Linux, it certainly is not actively friendly to Linux.

checkmate3001's suggestion is excellent. It you need to look for drivers, establishing a wired connection can be a useful tactic.

You generally have three ways to include a driver. One is native so you are out of luck there. Two is add it in (maybe blacklist wrong selected). Three may be to try ndiswrapper.

Some other distros may offer clues to installing. https://askubuntu.com/questions/4701...on-macbook-pro

What have you tried so far?
