WinXP ICS with SuSE 9.2 File Sharing

I searched google and the forums a bit, but I didn't find anything that useful. I'm very new with linux. The machine is mostly just to see how things work and learn.

The setup:
Laptop with WinXP Pro connected to wireless network.
Sharing enabled so it shares the wireless connection from the home network on its ethernet card.
Ethernet card on desktop with SuSE is connected to the laptops ethernet card.
The desktop has DHCP enabled and can use the internet.

Everything seems to be working well, I just can't view the shared folders on the Windows machine. I would also like to view the shares on the rest of the computers that belong to the home network. I'm not sure if this is possible.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum...I wasn't sure where it would best fit.

So this has nothing to do with ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)as far as I can tell cause all you want to do is access shared folders.

Can the two machines ping each other?
What are the permissions on the shared folder located on the windows machine? Odds are you'll need to set the "everyone" permisssion to read at the minimum.
Depending if XP is using secure communication, you may have to disable it.
I'll assume that SusE installed the smbclient when you did the installation. If not, install it.

Everyone has permission to read. The two computers can ping each other, and smbclient is installed.

I set up an ftp server on my windows machine and the linux box was able to connect to it.

I might just be trying to access the windows share incorrectly. Right now, I'm just going to the Network Servers in File Browser (I'm using Gnome). When I click Windows Network, the location bar shows smb:/// , but nothing shows up.

smbmnt /mnt/share -s //ServerName/Foldername

NO SPACES IN THE SHARED FOLDER

Thanks. I should've realized when I posted that I wouldn't be at home to fix this. I'll have to try it again when i come back home from school. Thanks a lot for your help, and fast replies.
