Unhappy winxp home and domain log on


trying to make LAN between winxp home and RH9. from XP i can see samba server but i cann't access. XP says i have no authorization. as you know XP home does not support domain log on. is it the problem for me.please help.

nop its not problem.
u must add a samba user for xp client to access shares.
smbpasswd -a username userpassword

i found the samba icon in 'my network places'. when i click,it says" \\samba is not accessible.you might not have the permission to use the network resource. contact the administrator........" at last it says "network path was not found"...................what can i do?

browsable=no

///this is my smb.conf file. then what can i do? pls help

hmm i think if you like to share some directory.. you can do like this :

[global]
workgrop = samba
netbios name - RH9
security = share

[temp]
path = /tmp
public = yes
