WindowsXP cannot access Linux router PC

OK the problem is the following - I have a Slackware 10.0 PC with two netcards - one wireless for outside and a eth0 for local connection with the other PC at home. Just finished routing outside internet to the other PC and Windows cannot see it. If I put a Knoppix CD and configure the network properties everything is OK. But in Windows XP I only can ping all hosts. In browsers, email clients, etc resolving doesn't work somehow. I doubt that there is some kind of service I need to enable but still cannot figure it out...
So the problem is not hardware that's sure - Knoppix can see the network and access everything
It's just Windows - I know I can just switch the other PC to Linux too but it's for my bro and he's not cool with that...
So does anyone have any idea what the problem with Win might be?

Have you set a default route in the XP machine pointing at the Linux router? Its been a while since I poked around in XP, so I can't tell you exactly where to find the setting. That is probably all you need to do, once you can ping the linux box.

Yup everything looks cool to me.. .an IP, default gateway, DNS. It can do nslookup under command prompt and can ping a domain (not only IP) so resolving names is not problem with command prompt but with XP graphic environment somewhere...
