Windows XP x64 workstation won't reconnect drives mapped to smb share

My samba share works fine with all the Windows workstations. I recently added two Win XP Pro x64 workstations and neither one will reconnect the drives that are mapped to the share. These boxes are identical. I added shortcuts to the start up menu to force reconnect. This worked on one box not the other?!?!

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm a bit confused - isn't this a problem with Windoze x64?

There seems to be a lot of people complaining about XP x64/Vista in relation to SMB connections - http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/M..._23172218.html

I guess that 'Dump the OS' doesn't really help!

That's what I am trying to determine. Is there a Samba fix or tweak? Or is this in fact solely an x64 issue.

Dump the OS in not an option. Wish it were. Unless you can tell me how to get Autodesk Architecture 2009 to run under Linux.
