I have a Win2k server and RedHat 7.1 system. I'm trying to print a document on a printer that is hanging off of the Linux system. I have a small switch with both systems connected on different ports. So, both systems are on the same "LAN". I can ping each system in both directions, but I can not connect to the Linux station. When I typed the IP address of the Linux system in the run command (of windows) I get "Network is unreachable".

Is anyone aware of any setting I may have missed. I think I have all of the necessary service started.

Linux and windows does not have compatible printing environments. In order to accomplish what you want you will have to look at the samba project. The samba software is included in your redhat distribution, but needs to be configured in order to do what you want it to. Have a look at www.samba.org
