Question windows in Linux


I have installed red hat linux 7.2 in our network, i configured samb.conf on linux machine.

I can easily see the linux machine through the networknebourhood of any of the windows machine of my network, but i want to see my all machines in linux .

Please anybody tell me how to configure linux or windows to see windows in linux.

can i recommend more descriptive titles, from yours there it could be talking about a huge amount of different things (i presumed it'd be about vmware...)

anyway... how far have you got? generally you should be able to just mount the windows share:

mount -t smbfs //winserver/share /mnt/point -o username=?,password=?

there's also "linneighborhood" availble (go to google) for the full on (somewhat pointless imho) graphical front end gubbins if you want it all pretty.

a quicker way is ...

smbclient //HOSTNAME/SHARENAME

where HOSTNAME is the name of the windows machine, and SHARENAME is the name you put in the "shared as" field in windows for the drive you are after.
