DNS server? do u mean named (BIND)? what do "/etc/rc.d/init.d/named status" and "cat /etc/resolv.conf" show in linux box, and "ipconfig /all" in M$ 2k client?

Is the DNS server for looking up any internet address eg yahoo.com, or for providing DNS for your-domain-name.com ?

What does ipconfig /all on the windows box show? Is it set to use the linux box as a dns server?
