Question Win98 Replacement

I am using Win98 connecting to my office networks that consists of WinNT, MS Internet Proxy and Network Printers.

Is there any Linux clients that I can replace the Win98 do connect the above mentioned network and do my day to day jobs like word processing, email, internet browsing and printing?

Thanks a lot!

Yes Samba.
But you would be better off building a firewall on Linux with all of the connectivity to the office.

Then connect to your Linux firewall with a Win200 system to use Word etc etc etc, but with a reliable and secure front end.

there is no 'THE NETWORK PROGRAM' in linux, various different programs do different things. samba is for sharing resources over networks, and nothign more. an it does a great job of it.

to share internet connections you should use ip masquarading, check the howto out on linuxdoc.org
