Win98 and RedHat 6.0 Internet Connection Sharing with a crossover cable
People, I am new andi am not asking for much. All I want is Someone to help me....PLZ OK , here we go, do not judge by my age... K, My dads pc has winblow$ 98, and i have redhat 6.0, trying to get used to it. I have a crossover cable, my dad has a adl Bell Sympatico Lite conection wit 64kb/s. I need to connect theese pcs how?

Hello lorisdaboris,
I'll tell you what. If you remove all those X's from your signature, I'll try and help you. Until then I have to scroll left and right, left and right, just to read your post. Which doesnt help. Just to get you started, the best thing to do is leave RH6 well alone, make sure the cable is definitely a cross-over and not normally-wired and do all the configuring from the Windows 98 end as thats the OS that obviously needs the most help to do anything.

As a starting point, I believe Win98 has an option for sharing an internet connecton in its network setup routine. When you have that set up you'll probably have to reboot to enable it. Then you'll be setting up your network connection on eth0 on the RH box. I don't remember what GUI tools RH6 may have for doing this.
