Wimewire Gnutella client works, but apollon-gnutella does not :(

Hey guys....
ive recently installed Limewire, The gnutella P2P client program.
i like the Gnutella Netowork, but hate the limewire interface, and basically, the way the ehole pogram operates.

Ive installed Gift-FastTrack gift-Gnutella and Gift-OpenFT and all modules are loded into Gift, and beeing controlled through Apollon.

anyways, i Love the way Apollon works.. but after weeks of use, the apollon gnutella plugin has never managed to connect.

all the gift ports are openened on the firwall (except the gift->apollon local control connection on port 1213)

any idea whats wrong ?
do the other non-free gnutella cients block the open source free clients ?

I don't get the giFT-gnutella plugin to work either.
I think its a problem of gift not apollon, or does LimWire use the giFT-plugin?

LimeWire and Apollon

No, LimeWire does not use gift. It works great for me. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's Java. But anyway it works fast.

I have just the same problem as you with the Gnutella plugin in Apollon. I have no idea how to fix it.

There's something else about Apollon: why doesn't the player work? It used to work in older versions but I've instaled every single package related to KDE and multimedia and still it says it's missing. Any idea how to fix that?
