WiFi Device Disconnected

My WiFi is not working so I typed:
nmcli device
In the command line to see if one of my devices was disconnected. It showed:
DEVICE TYPE STATE CONNECTION
wlp2s0 wifi disconnected - -

I canít find an Ethernet cable..might have to go purchase one. In the mean time...is there anyway to connect the device just using the command line? Iíve already tried restarting the computer...what else can I try?

you may ditch networkmanager and do it by hand with

proper wpa_supplicant.conf
dhcpcd + wpa_supplicant with a shell

e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/WPA_supplicant

Personal rant: automounters, networkmanager hardly ever worked for myself. always random functionality. not even samsung manages it on stock samsung android, sm-t580 to get simple wifi wlan working. so what. do it by hand, and you know where it stops, where you are, how it works

Hello and welcome to LQ.

Telling us (or at least me) the distro you use may help.
