Wierd Networking Unleashed :)
Hello every1
I have a little bit confusing problem here, but I bet you hear that all the time :) anyways... say my environment will be some regular 10/100 hub with only 2 pc connected. 1 Fedora lapp + 1 XP Deskt. Desktop in BIOS has got options to wake on lan & etc but everything is disabled, nic card in the desktop is not PXE either, laptop has a network adapter which is a regular pcmci 3com, nuttin fancy. So my deal is that I have witnessed with my own 3 eyes :0 the following. When the XP Pc is switched off and on laptop i reconfigure Fedora to use same subnet + IP as the switched off desktop, as soon as I start (or rather restart) the network service on the lappy THE PC BOOTS UP !!! can some1 please explain this little magic here to me??? I am really curious! |
Sounds like a BIOS bug to me...
