why have I lost my network,

I have just upgraded my Video Card with a nVidia GeForce 6600. But it has taken away my network. I can ping the other machine but into this one. Both machines can access the web through the router. It is just as though there is a firewall there but theres not. ANybody had this problem, or know what is coursing it. Ernie

I cant imagine your graphics card installation affecting your networking (but then my experience is pretty limited) the fact that you can still access the internet ok shows that your NIC is working fine. its more likely when you moved your PC to install the card you shifted some of your hardware, maybe something on your router/switch/hub came unplugged?

hope this helps

Thanks, Its a strange one, just after I installed the card I checked and the network was working. I then went into xorg conf to change the resolution, since then no network. There is no visible switch on the router, and I can ping one way. It's got me baffled.Ernie.

PS Dont know if this means anything, but this is a section After doing DMESG.
