Why don't file and print sharing of Samba pass throgh PPP connection?

My server is RedHat9.0 running mgetty , pppd and samba.
File and print sharing is running for LAN member. But client connect from modem (dial-up networking in windowsXP) cannot browse file and print sharing that exist in samba server.
From my understanding of the way PPP and Samba work, without special
configuration, SMB broadcasts will not be forwarded over a PPP connection.

What has to be set up on the Samba server and Samba/Windows clients in order for this to work?
I have put netbios name in LMHOSTS file on both the client and Samba server. And can ping to netbios name from client to server and vice versa already.
many thanks (from many search. it's difficult question, but still no solution)

The PopToP project has a programme called bcrelay which does this. It needs to be setup on the RHbox...
Docs.. You may need to build it from the pptpd sources or take it from an rpm..
It is a one-direction device.. in one interface-out another, so run it twice if you need to with diferent options.

Also, you need to issue a wins-server allocation to ppp clents so they can access a browse list. Check the wins-support option in smb.conf
