who and pts #

All,
I am not sure if this is the correct place for this question, but I needed to start somewhere. I have a Redhat 9.0 Linux server and whenever I do a who, it gives me the name, pts, last login and name resolution. Now, if I go to the /dev/pts directory, should the pts find here coincide with the pts that who shows me?
Thanks
