Which distro to use and what type of networking would be best with it.

Hi!

I have an ap (probabaly it a usr's ap (http://www.usr.com/products/networki...sp?sku=USR8054) ) to which my linux box (p1, 96mb ram) is connected trough a cable.

I have a notebook that is running xp and has a usr's PCMCIA wireless card (http://www.usr.com/products/networki...sp?sku=USR5410).

I am a newbie and want to connect these two computers.

Which distro to use?
The options that I have are RH9, Fedora, suse9.3 and mandrake 10.

Which type of networking will be easier to setup. Wireless or Wired?
I have a cross over cable.

Want to use my linux box as a storage server.

No matter which distribution to use. All of those you mentioned are top distros as desktops and servers. But wireless connection between box and laptop is better choice, for Laptop is still THE portable device.:D
Good luck

Ok

I have been trying to find something to help me get my wireless network working between Linux and win xp but no success.

What is easy to setup and find recourses on, wireless or cross cable or the ap/switch connection. Can you please point me to a some step by step guide or tutorial or even a book/s.
