which distro do you run on your servers?

this question has probaly been asked many times, sorry if it has.

i was just wondering what distro you run on your servers and gateways and why. i know itll mostly boil down to personal preference, but i just wanted to hear some peoples OS plugs/prejudices. do you prefer one distro over another for say web services as opposed to file services or applications?

also, does anyone here run Gentoo on a production server?? it seems very bleeding edge but one linux guru i worked with recommended i run either red hat or gentoo on our servers... i dont necesarily agree with him.

I run RH9 for all my servers at work with the exception of one, which runs vector linux.

At home, I use RH9 mostly, but have Vector, and slack as well.... though i hardly ever boot to them.

I chose RH9 for work mostly because Dell will bundle it with your purchase, so you know everything is supported right out of the box.

THe vector install at work is for an aged machine with limited purpose that needed a solid platform that wouldnt be a hog on resources... but, many others would have done that too.
