Question Where to find dhcp servers benckmark


Hi,

I am going to deploy a large network with a dhcp server. My customer would like to know dhcp benchmark.

Please, can some body help me if there are a link to this.

I don't see what there is to benchmark about a dhcp server.
The dhcp server is just a little program that hands out ip addresses when it's asked for one. If you want to benchmark the speeds of that it will depend on the network and the server which you are running the program itself on.
I think you'd be better off benchmarking the entire network instead of just one little server program.
Once an ip has been obtained from the dhcp server all the transfers will be the same speed as when you would have given it a static ip address. Dhcp is just something which is used to set up the initial connection.
I think you'd be better off finding out what the customer is worried about when using DHCP and maybe explain to them a little bit how it works.
I doubt there are benchmark tests of the program, but if you wanna keep looking good luck.
