Where oh where are my w2k users?

Hey all,

OK, so I have 2 Linux terminal servers. They both talk to my W2k domain controller, and I can log into each of the TS's with windows accounts. All is good. Then when I export the /home/DOMAIN directory with NFS and mount it on the other linux box, the UID's are not the same. However, when I use a getent passwd on them both, the UID # is the same but the GID is. Is there a way that I can reset the UID on each machine to be the same? It is not stored in /etc/passwd or /etc/samba/secrets.tdb so where are they? I cannot seem to find any documentation on this, even if you could point me in the direction of some documentation or a howto that would be wonderful.

Thanks,
David

Solution found!

Wow,

Even posting here helps. Once I thought about the question that I asked I knew what to google for and found the answer. It isn't pretty but here it is if anybody is interested:
