Hello,

I am using Redhat 9 with kernel 2.4.24. I will be setting MTU 1492 in kernel source code.

1492 is the mtu size of DSL packets. 1500 is the mtu size of internal lan packets. Less will not hurt you. More will hurt you. Choose less.
