what types of services do telecomm firm like t-moble,celtel,mtn use linux/unix for


hi friends,

i know i am not meant to post such a question here but where else do i post it.

i have been into unix/linux for a while now and i really want to know what types of service large telecomm firm use unix/linux server for. i will be very greatfull to every comment

Yeah, I mean, UNIX is a child of the telecom industry, so it's right at home.

I do think there are more UNIX to GNU/Linux migrations happening every day, though.

As for current GNU/Linux use specifically, you might wanna start by Googling about the Carrier Grade Linux specifications. You should be able to find some news articles or statistical data related to telecom industry migrations from UNIX to GNU/Linux. The homepage is here.
