what NETWORK actually means in Linux?
 

I have three systems connected to each other and all runnning on Fedora Core 2... I have shared files on one of the system (lets say A)and that system is also running some services like NFS, Samba, DNS etc. so keeping in view the scenario, can i call this system as SERVER for the other two....
If Yes then other two systems will be called as clients of-course...
My question: Is there any big difference between the 'Server/Client Network in Windows environment' and 'Server/Client Network in Linux/Unix'???
Please clarify...

actually i am preparing for my project in which i have to give real world differences between the two... If my opinions (which are actually LQs opinions)prove to be valid then my company will switch over to the open source whereas now it is Windows Based... SO i want more and more points that will give me a deep insight into the two networks...
