What does this error mean: "Couldn't display 'smb:///', because...

"Couldn't display 'smb:///', because Nautilus cannot contact the SMB Master Browser. Check that an SMB server is running in the local network.

a) Does this tell me that I've not yet gotten Samba to work and don't worry about it
b) Samba *is* loading on bootup
c) How do I tell independantly of watching the boot screen that Samba has in fact, been started, and is running.

Yes, I'm reading the HOWTO, I'm just still an utter newbie at this. I appreciate any help you could offer.

To find out if samba is running run this as root:
service smb status

To make sure that a master browser is available I would make samba the master browser. Edit smb.conf and uncomment and set these varaibles:
os level = 65
local master = yes
preferred master = yes

Then restart samba:
service smb restart

Thanks for the reply!

Unfortuneatly, I get the same error dialogue box when I got to redhat->Network servers. Yes, I uncommented teh three lines in question. And rebooted (to boot!).

Am I doing something wrong? Obviously I am, but I'm baffled what it is.

Thanks!
