what does it mean auth-nxdomain yes; at named.conf by BIND 9

hi

can someone explain me auth-nxdomain yes;
at named.conf from BIND 9.2.2 ?

should I set it active for my internal DNS server
(DDNS with non internet public domain ),
or I don't need ?

regards
cccc

If auth-nxdomain is set to yes, bind will set rebpy bit AA (authoritative answer) even it is not authoritative server for corresponding zone.
