what command shows country wap is set to ?

300M Wireless N Router Model No. TL-WR940N

under wireless settings region says: United States

but when I do
Code:
iw dev wlan0 scan | grep -e SSID -e Country
        SSID: mywap
no country is reported.

I'm asking because /var/log/messages keeps setting/unsetting every few minutes, as in:
Quote:
cfg80211: World regulatory domain updated:
cfg80211: DFS Master region: unset
.
.
.
cfg80211: Regulatory domain changed to country: US
cfg80211: DFS Master region: FCC
Doing
Code:
iw reg set US
doesn't seem to matter and neither does country=US in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf.

Thanks

Short answer is that the daemon doesn't want you to lie about where you are so it checks and sets the region.
