what are the parameters for "ne" realtek RLT8019

i am trying a manual installation of suse 91 per. so that i can upgrade to 91 pro. and i need to load my network card to connect to ftp. i have a realtek RLT 8019 ethernet card and i have been told that i can use the NE2000 driver since suse doesn't offer the actual driver for my card. it is asking me for the parameters for "ne" and give the example of io=0x300.
i don't know if i need to mess with the jumpers on my card or just find the right io. i'm very new to all this but i'm learning. let me know if you need anymore info to help me. thankyou

If its a pnp card then try modprobe ne io=0x280 irq=5
[or]
modprobe ne irq=5

[alais you can give as alias ne eth0]

Also I had the same problem in RTL8019 AS ethernet.
But when i changed it jumperless mode it worked well

You can use rset utility available in dos to configure the card to jumperless mode . here u can specify your own parameters.

But try to make it work in pnp mode as thats comfortable.

Cheers

Use lspci -v as root at the console or in a console window to get the required information. Then to load the driver use modprobe ne io=0x300 irq=3 changing the values for io= and irq= to what you see in the output of the lspci -v. BTW the lspci command is provided by the pciutils package in Debian you may have to look for a similar package in SuSE.
