Just because your router is always on doesn't mean your IP lease is not periodically renewed by the ISP; in that case getting the same IP is just pure luck : the same IP will be assigned by preference iff it's available.

Log on to your router (telnet or web management interface) and check the IP settings : if the address is hard-coded you're on static IP (I doubt it), otherwise dynamic. If it's dynamic, some status fonction should giv you access to the length of the lease.
