WETG54 Bridge not receiving IP Address

Ok, here is the problem...........

My WET54G Bridge is not receiving an IP address from my WRT54GX Linksys wireless router. My ethernet port is a SiS 900 10/100 port. I have used it with my other windows computers without any problems.

I have tried it with Simply Mepis, Kanotix, Ubuntu and Kubuntu, SuSe 9.2. I had it working in Linux before I upgraded to the new router. I took the new one off and replaced it with the older one and still cannot get online with the bridge. It has no problem on the XP machines.

I have gone back to the web interface, reset the configuration to Automatic or DHCP for the IP addrss, set the ssid to the correct name and the bridge rebooted as it should. I still have the same problem. I have also used the rest button on the bridge to enable the default settings and then reconfigured those.

At present time, I am now trying the newest Mandriva distro as I understood it has great hardward detection. It does recognize the LAN port as SiS900 but still cannot get an IP address from the router to the bridge.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Bridges don't need an IP address.
