Webster 2000 cable modem and Fedora 10


i try to connect to the internet through this cable modem , usb , and in the network tab as soon as i plug usb cable modem in it says requesting network adress, but than suddenly stops and says disconnected and fails to connect

any ideas how to overcome this and establish a internet connection
