website usage statistics

I am not sure if this question has already been posted... I am not a Linux specialist, I just use it at my work, so please be patient ;-).

I run Fedora (I think it's the second kernel). I have an Apache webserver running, and I have just noticed that in one of my /var/www/html directories, there's a directory "usage" which contains very useful information about the traffic on my webserver.

Now my question is, why does it appear in one of my directories and not in all of them? It does not appear e.g. in the /var/www/html/ itself, only in one subdirectory, which I find quite odd.

Another related question: is it possible to display information on certain urls only? If that would work, I could make a hyperlink on my workrelated website showing the traffic on that part, and another one on my personal website showing the traffic there.

Thanks in advance!

I think you are referring to the webalizer program/rpm; which by default will load its config file in /etc/webalizer.conf and also add a /usage reference in /etc/httpd/conf.d/webalizer.conf.

Type: rpm -ql webalizer

to get a complete list of webalizer files that are loaded. I simply modifed the default files to generate a report for each domain my web server hosts.

Thanks a lot! I didn't know about this program - I will certainly check it out! This is really very useful.
