Webmin Installation


Dear Fans,

can anybody tell me how to configure Webmin in Mandrake linux?

I already install rpm file of webmin.

It should be pre-configured. Go to http://localhost:10000 and use "root" with your root password. Should work automatically.

webmin installation

dear wmd,

when i run http://localhost:10000 directly in my browser it shows me error.
is there any prerequisits settings for webmin setup??

Maybe start the webmin, on slackware you have to do :
/etc/webmin/start
I don't know if it is the same in mandrake, though.

Mandrake Linux includes Webmin as part of it's installation, if chosen. However, it's installed in SSL mode by default, so you have to point your browser to:

https://localhost:10000 not http://localhost:10000

Webmin Installation

Thanx to all of you,

I successfully configured webmin.
But i got another problem. I configured Squid Proxy from it. When i click on "Start Squid", its not started. I checked it from shell prompt with help of Start Squid, it is already started.

now i want to start it from Webmin.

can anybody give me hint for this???

Hello

Under module config check all Squid files path is correct
For eample mine as following path.

Full path to squid config file = /usr/local/squid/etc/squid.conf
Squid executable = /usr/local/squid/sbin/squid
Squid cachemgr.cgi executable = /usr/local/squid/libexec/cachemgr.cgi

hello

Please explain what error r u facing , if all paths r ok then its sould run. remenber when you click on start squid and it give u no massege just keep scilent aftre few send work then its ok your squid is running.

otherwise explain your error maseges
