postfix + courier-imap + imp + mysql

this is what i use: https://www.gigahurts.net/horde/imp

http://www.horde.org for the horde-imp stuff. I have also done this using sendmail once before on a red-hat box. Also, if you installed imap with redhat then you already have it but there is a way to make virtual users with mysql and courier-imap so that u dont have to give your email users actual system accounts, or you can give them system accounts with passwords but dissallow logins, this will still allow them to check email via webmail interface.

some suggest squirrel mail but IMP looks way better IMO.

oh, Georgia Tech uses it too:

http://webmail.mail.gatech.edu (notice how the page defaults to https, im working on having mine do that too )

all free, OSS software.

Thanks Robert0380,

Well, ok, its since long time, but..i need to implemet it now...(urgent :rolleyes: ) .. I am trying it on a linux redhat 9 Platform..

as i come to know from some documentation, i should install mysql first...then proably postfix...

which distro u implemented it ..plz... share some idea...compiling source postfix for work with mysql and ur other mentioned stuff....or any howto or guidelines ?;

I checked out some documentation reffering on postfix website...but source installation for redhat with mysql support there might need some special consideration also..

ohh..i also need the server for multiple domain support.

thanks,

qmail and sendmail are another options. i use qmail on redhat 8.0. i have a very small server (75 email box, 2 domains). but qmail works on yahoo and some other greatest email servers. take a look at www.qmailrocks.org
