Question WEBHOSTING Questions

Hi! pls help:
We are currently hosting multiple sites in just 1 windows box using IIS ofcourse... Now we're transferring all of these sites to our new redhat 9 linux box. im having trouble configuring the Domain Name Service(BIND, Zones) and Apache.

can u explain it step by step?
all i have to do is:
a. change the ns value where i registered the domain names.
ns1.oldserver.com --> ns2.newserver.com
b. configure the domain name service ... this i dont know how to start..

im just new to linux so pls help!

well, the zones should be the same as the windows box. check the forward lookup zones, etc. on there and copy them. also, i am under the impression that if you are removing the windows box, you can name the linux box the same and not worry about changing anything.

anyway, the commands:
man bind
man named.conf

should give you idea of it. then this link has good example files, etc.
