Webcam from static ip

we had installed survillence camera in all our office and can view from the application of camera's software which is installed in our boss pc.The pc which had installed the card and the connections of cameras coming to that pc.Our boss when in office he able to see all office what people doing at the work time, but now he is asking me that if he wanted to view from the home what to do, so i asked the vendor and he tell me install an static ip on the system (where card in installed) and you can view from the static ip.

we have redhat 9 proxy server in our office with the static ip 59.144.124.51, i don't have any extra static ip so i want to ask one question is that is it possible to dmz for that

when i opened the lan ip http://192.168.1.206 it is showing me the video of all our office but when i tried from static ip it is showing me the test page of redhat linux, here i am giving you the netstat details of my pc when i opened it from my pc.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>netstat -n

Active Connections

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP 192.168.1.66:1065 192.168.1.206:5610 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1068 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1070 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1071 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1072 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED

as you can see when i opened from my 192.168.1.66 in internet explorer http://192.168.1.206 it is showing me the videos of our office.

please give me the iptables rules for this, also please suggest me to disable test page permantly on redhat linux server.

Red hat linux server
eth0: 192.168.1.2 (local lan)
eth1: 59.144.124.51 (Static ip)

Camera server
192.168.1.206

Hi,

What you need to do is NAT your traffic to the right box.

Your camera server: 192.168.1.206
Your public ip: 59.144.124.51

Let's say the port your application is using is 8080,

You should tell all traffic going to 59.144.124.51:8080 to be redirected to 192.168.1.206:8080.

To do that use iptables on your firewall (your redhatbox) to NAT to your camera server.

WWW ---> Redhat ---> Camera server
59.144.124.51 192.168.1.206

Hope this helps

wecam from static ip

as i already told that when i enter the url in internet explorer say http://192.168.1.206 it opens the page of camera viewer when i netstat -n that pc it show me following ports

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP 192.168.1.66:1065 192.168.1.206:5610 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1068 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1070 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1071 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED
TCP 192.168.1.66:1072 192.168.1.206:5600 ESTABLISHED

it means it is using 5610 and 5600 port and the ip of the camera server is 192.168.1.206 which is showing in foreign address.

now the problem is with the test page of red hat linux it is giving me lot of problem when i enter http://59.144.124.51 it is showing me the test page.

The big problem is that i want the dmz rule like when our boss enter http://59.144.124.51 in the internet explorer the request will open the 5610 and 5600 port and the request will go to 192.168.1.206 and it will show me the page of camera viewer i want to tell you that i am not opening the url like http://59.144.124.51:8080, i have to open it http://59.144.124.51 and the big problem with the test page of apache, i had stoped the service of httpd but it still showing the test page of apache.

so you have to help me first to give the hint for disable the test page of apache then you please give the iptables rules of dmz which goes from static(59.144.124.51) ip to lan ip (192.168.1.206)

Regards

Hi,

Say it is listening on port 5610, simply use NAT to redirect to an different IP and port.

camera.mydomain.com:80 --> Linux FW --> 192.168.1.206:5610

camera -> 192.168.1.206
80 -> 5610

man iptables for how to use NAT.

Somehow, if internally all you do is type the ip address in a browser and get the page with your cameras, the application is listening on port 80 and not 56xx.

If that's the case, your linux web pages will never be able to be used or you will have to change the nat to a 'url rewrite' (mod_proxy for example) and create a virtual host.

Hope this helps

just forward 5600 and 5610 ports in your router and try to access it from public
http://59.144.124.51:5600
http://59.144.124.51:5610

Hi again,

Your 'proxy server' is the router/firewall to your office. It's probably behind a DSL router but we can ignore that if the DSL router forwards all traffic to the 'proxy server'.

The 'proxy server' being on RH, I suspect you have a graphical interface so you can search the avaiable rpms for a graphical interface to iptables. fwbuilder should be fine for a start.

I'm having problems of my own configuring my firewall using iptables so I'm not the person to ask fr advice in pure iptables (thus fwbuilder )
