I want a webpage where I can go to www.nameofmypage.com and it will go to my computer. I use apache and have a dynamic ip. I have used no-ip but I want to use my own domain name and their price is 19.95. Zoneedit is free an I can buy a domain name for 10 bucks. What do I need to do as far a purchasing goes. I am running Fedora Core 1. What type of configuration is nessasary as far as DNS, etc. Can I run my own DNS server on my linux computer. (I am trying out linux toys) I would like to have websites like website1.nameofmypage.com and have an email server like bob@nameofmypage.com any ideas?
There is actually a very nice tutorial about this at no-ips website. After checking out zoneedit, you have to purchase your domain before you can use their services. If you want something like busabr.no-ip.com than noip is free. No-ip looks a little more documented and maybe better service.
