Arrow web server is not working

hello there,
I have big problem with my web server. I have RedHat v9 on my small network set up.
In this network I am having 2windows and 2Linux systems. I have one squid server which shares internet connection to other. Similarly I have set up my personal web server also with name www.example.com with ip 192.168.0.22 on one of the linux machine.
NOW PROBLEM is that when i try http://www.example.com along with proxy setting in browser then it does not show pages but with same setting if i give http://192.168.0.22 then it shows the pages of my local web server..Similarly if i remove proxy setting from browser then it gives pages with "http://www.example.com"...... I bypass the local setting in proxy setting then it is not working with "http://www.example.com"...
SO why is it happing so?????????? or is there any solution to access local website with the name in my local network.................??????????? I just want my web server in my local network itself.....

Waitting for the responce..

Thanks In Advance.......

well it would sound like you squid machine doesn't sufficient DNS knowkedge to resolve the hostname for the web server. can you ping the web box from squid by name?
