Way of monitoring toner levels in SNMP capable network printers

I have about 10 network printers (various HP and Brother) - they all seem to support the SNMP Printer-MIB. What I'd ideally like to do is put a page on my LAMP server that is a one page summary of all the printers' toner and drum levels. Does a decent open source application to do this already exist? And if not, does anyone have any clues on how the Printer-MIB is supposed to work? I could program it myself with a Perl or PHP SNMP module - but the numbers I get from snmpwalk don't match what each printers built-in web status page says for it - it seems like it would be easier just to scrape info from that than to do proper SNMP.

Thanks for any help,
Josh

i'd say nagios may be your best bet. also you might want to look at cacti. Personally i would use opennms, but that would be for a substantially larger and more dynamic range of devices than 10 static printers
