Wants to backup my configured os


i had installed my linux os on VMware and configured like updated repositories, and other required files. my question is that how can i backup this os so in future i can directly install this configured os??

Shut down the machine, and copy the VMWare files to a safe location. From my heart these are the .vmx and the .vmdk files. If there are some more files, you could copy the entire directory where these files reside.

If you want to re-install this machine, just register it with vmware again.
