want to take dump backup from Linux to window pc

Dear Friends ,

I m using a Redhat 2.1 Linux server with Oracle Database . In that server using "export" script , i get data dump backup in a particular partition (Like /backup) . I m doing work in the linux server from Windows XP Machine .

Now I want the selected data dump file will be stored into my Windows machine from the Linux machine in a particular time in a day (Like 10 P.M.) . In this situation is possible to do ?

If yes then plz help me ... I want to use "Cron" facility regarding this purpose . Waiting for ur reply .. ..

hi Rashed,

If u want to move your Data from Linux to Windows or vice-versa.
You can use WINSCP....but when you want to perform this operation at a certail time u should write some Script in /etc/rc.d/ so that it can run every boot time..

I hope it'll work..

Cheers

If you have the windows share mounted, you could create a cron job to run your script daily. Use the mount point for the share instead of the /backup partition, unless that is where you mount the samba share.
