Exclamation wanna setupa network in institute comp lab.....


hi friends...
i am very new to linux.just moved to linux from windows.now i want to setup a linux network in institute computer lab.i ihav installed red hat linux on each machine.now i want to make a network so that i can allot login a ccounts to different students so dat they can login on any system using their login account and password.can anybosy please tell me from scratch.....what hardware and softare is needed to do so.
which type of server i need to set up and hoe to setup it....?????????

As you have installed linux on all desktops,
1. Setup a linux server as a NIS server.
2. Do NIS client configuration on all desktops.
3. Create logins on NIS server.
4. Try to access through NIS client.
