Hi,
I have 2 linux boxes connecting through a NetComm NB1300 PLus 4 ADSL to internet.
I tryed to ftp to 192.168.1.1 which is the address of the other box.
it says (VxWorks5.4.2) FTP server ready
BUT I cannot put any name or password in. The box I am trying to ftp to is running FC5 & the old one is using redhat 7.2
Is there some config file that needs to be edited on the Fedora box?
thanks
nigelc
Sounds like you have a network problem, like duplicated IP's on your network. VxWorks is a commercial realtime operating system that typically runs on embedded CPU hardware. It seems you have connected to that FTP server, and not the FC5 linux host you expected. Try changing the IP of your Fedora host, and see if that fixes the problem. This may be a problem that requires consultation with a network administrator at your site.

Hi,
Made A mistake..
I was talking to the modem/Router. It accepts ftp, telnet and http. All with the same password. With ftp the files didn't look like a unix system no permissions. It must be smarter than I thought.
