vsFTPd Question

When I installed vsFTPd on my server, it created a user called "FTP" and I was wondering if I can delete this user and if that will effect anything as far as how great my ftp server has been working?

I have no need for this used.

Thanks!

Actually you probably want to leave this user there. The reason is that vsftpd will run under the user ftp, so if someone does manage to crack it, they can't really damage the machine. Besides, the ftp user doesn't have a real account, so it isn't a security threat to have it there.

So it's not a real account with a user name and password, correct?

Yeah, there is no way someone could log in as ftp and start using the machine.
