Hey all, anyone know of any good sites with client side explanations of commands. for instance how to use "!" with commands, like "!cd" to change directories of the local machine to "put" files on the ftp server???
i am using vsftpd, and the man pages, didnt really give me a description of what i want. I am really looking for just a like of commands, on the remote machine doing the ftp to my server. how to change local directories to put files on the server????
help does not help. Let me explain.
On my windows machine, I ftp into my linux box (FC1).
I type the command "!cd" to display my local directory on my windows machine, which is currently
C:\Documents and Settings\Josh
I want to change this directory to navigate around my windows machine to find files to "put" onto my ftp server.
Using "!" to navigate my local machine, however i cannot do
ftp> !cd Windows
to change my local directory to windows, or any other directory i specifiy, this is my issue. THanks again
There's some documentation on the command line ftp client in the Windows help file.
Though I havent read it before, because I thought the commands displayed in "help" were straight forward enough.
