vsftpd chroot and Apache

Hi All, I am trying to setup a webserver using Apache (Virtual Hosts) and allow FTP access (vsftpd) for users to upload there sites.

Apache VirtualHosts is working fine but I have a problem. Using vsftpd I've chrooted everyone into thier home directories, now if I point the DocumentRoot at a folder inside a users home directory I get the "Forbidden" error when trying to access the site.

Obviously this is because of the privlages of the home directory. Rather than messing about with these permissions I have decided to setup a dedicated partition for users sites, this all works fine. Unfortunetley I can't see where in vsftpd configuration I can chroot to a directory different to $HOME. Any ideas how this can be achieved?
