VS-FTPD Configuration on Redhat 9
 

Hey everyone, I have been trying to configure VS-FTPD for Redhat Linux 9. I have edited the /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf file to suit the needs for my system. I started the service. When I try to connect from another machine, it gives the 421 error. I seem to have done everything right. I haven't touched the /etc/vsftpd.ftpusers file or the /etc/vsftpd.user_list file. I haven't messed with any xinetd.d files either. Another friend of mine is having some similar problems with VSFTPD on Redhat Linux 9. His posting is here

do a ps -ef | grep vsftpd to see if the service is running. If not, try /etc/init.d/vsftpd start
