VPN site2site with Microsoft server


Hello to all,

This is my first thread and I am a newbie so take easy boys ...

Any program or package that implement and monitoring VPN connection´s

PS : This package will have to do a VPN site2site with a Linux server running iptables and a ( argh) Microsoft server , ( sorry for that M ... word )

If you want to connect the two networks, you could use IPSEC. I've not setup IPSEC on Windows before, but I've seen the name go by on one of the dialog boxes. I've been using OpenSwan with linux 2.4 kernels. I believe IPSEC is built-in to 2.6. Also, I recommend using Shorewall to manage your iptables for IPSEC vpn's.

Great buddy,

In Windows environment IpSec is called IKE .

Do Yo known if Shorewall has a free version or it is already a free version ?

Do You known any other option ?

Shorewall is free. They use the GPL. It is available for linux only (I believe). They use iptables to control traffic.

I've used it before. It isn't hard to use in comparison to others, but it does require a lot of config file editing. (If anyone knows a good gui front end, I'm all ears.)
