VPN on Kubuntu

Hello again!

I was wondering if anyone has tried to setup a VPN connection in Kubuntu?

I am trying to do so in my version of 12.10 and it wont connect. Actually.. it doesnt do anything when I click on the VPN interface. All of my settings are in correctly from what I can tell.

Any help is appreciated. I am having to use the settings on Windows as a VM for now

This seems to be a known bug for KDE.

I've had similar issues, but with Kubuntu 12.04. Gnome does, indeed work fine.

Oh okay.. I was afraid of that

Since I dont use or even like GNOME, I will just use my Windows 7 VM until KDE fixes the buggie

Missing package

That bug is really old, your problem probably is that you didn't install the network-manager-openvpn package. Kde lets you add the openvpn network anyway and gives no error message to explain what's wrong.

Install that package (sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn) and try again
